We’ve been counting down the days to Sister Palooza 2013 since last year’s first annual Sister Palooza.
This, my friends, is a tradition wonderfully made in the name of sisterhood, be it by birth, by marriage, or by sorority rite. We mark our calendars for one weekend during the summer, and we spend our time together eating and laughing and joking and soaking up the sweet summer sun.
Even the Pups joined in on the fun! These women have helped to make me who I am. Each a sister to me in different ways, but I love them all the same. There was a moment of realization that I had while sitting next to the Tiki Bar this weekend (the name we’ve affectionately given my sister in law, Jennie’s back deck/cabana). Knowing that these moments are fleeting, that there will always be jobs and responsibilities and one day babies, but for now we sit and enjoy the youth that was never promised to us, yet we’re blessed to have been given.
There will come a day when we’ll be teachers and mothers and lawyers and small business owners. Today, even for just one day, we are children of the summer sun.
LOVE LOVE the pictures! Such pretty ladies 🙂
