Have yourself a merry little Christmas.
Let your heart be light.
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight.
I’ve always loved this song, in fact, it is by far my favorite secular Christmas song (specifically, the Judy Garland version). I love the intention in the lyrics. The hope that next year will soon arrive, leaving behind the worries of the current year.
I’ve been quieter for the past few weeks as far as my blog posts go, and that’s been very intentional. As I was scanning last year’s Christmas posts, I realized all the things I let “busy” get in the way of last year. This Christmas, I didn’t want to let tasks come before my family. Matt and I have enjoyed Christmas movie nights with the pups, completely decorated our home, sent Christmas cards (a first for us), and I have completely finished my shopping and wrapping (well, almost finished the wrapping part), made homemade peppermint bark to share with our neighbors, crafted precious ornaments for my students, and am slowly but surely this week finishing packages to send to my wedding clients. I spend so much time yearning for this season every year, that I didn’t want to let it slip by me this December without taking all that it has to offer, and of course, giving some holiday cheer to those around me as well. I hope y’all are taking the time to enjoys your friends and families this season!
