I must say, of all the cyber places you could have ended up, i’m certainly glad you chose to be here. Viewing my site is best accompanied by your choice of beverage; i recommend sweet tea, hazelnut macchiato, or prosecco. That, and 80's music, preferably from the breakfast club soundtrack.

Here comes the sun, little darling.

March 16, 2012

Hello there, fellow bloggers!

Truth be told, I’m both elated and anxious to start this journey in the world of blogging. Being a blog novice, getting started was slightly overwhelming. Selecting a web address was harder than selecting which school I would attend for undergrad (well, let’s be honest, JMU was a shoe-in). It just seemed so…permanent. My fiance, we’ll affectionately refer to him as “Finance” from here on out, suggested “Boo Boo’s Blog” and the “Notions of Nikki,” both of which I denied, much to his dismay. I finally decided on everpresentlove because I wanted this blog to somehow glorify God. God is love, and he is ever present, always with us. And being as I’m a lover by nature, this seemed a fitting choice.

So here I am. World, self. Self, world.

I’m not sure yet what the purpose of this blog is to be. If nothing else, it will be a creative outlet for my own use only. A place where I can share my thoughts and an occasional photograph. I also love music, so much like my first post, many of my post titles will come from the current melody stuck in the mad chaos that is my mind 🙂

So I’ll leave you this evening with some words I jotted down in my journal a few weeks ago.

Sleep it off.

Wake up new.

Be completely present

in the new day.

You know, they say

it’s always darkest before the dawn.

And now we are past it.

No more darkness.

Don’t let it follow you.

Leave it where it belongs.

For in the light

there is no room

for anything but

brightness.

This photo was taken during our last full moon. I chased this sucker the whole way home, called my Mama and told her to bring my camera outside, grabbed it from her and sped to the most open place in my heavily wooded neighborhood. This picture is the result. I’m slightly obsessed. Little known fact, I’m a moon fanatic. I adore what I have always called “moon shadows.” Image

I am also fortunate enough to have this creature in my life. My family and I affectionately call her “Noodle.” Her christian name is Madame Precious Periwinkle. My younger sister thought it was a mouthful and decided to change it. None of us remember where she got “Noodle” from. Precious was kind enough to pose for this photo opp. We spent Tuesday afternoon basking in the sun’s beautiful rays and enjoying one of our favorite choice beverages. Her gentleman friend from down the street came a calling and I had to send her to her room. She’s much too old for dates these days. Image

Things I’m enjoying these days:

Daylight Savings Time

Kelle Hampton’s blog, Enjoy the Small Things (If you haven’t read it, you need to. Her words, and her precious daughters, are beautiful.

Earrings from OneDelightfulButton. I received the yellow scroll and grey mums this week. They’re precious, a spring essential.

Proverbs 3, 5-6

Music by Kimbra

  1. Thank you for the follow! I had a similar experience with chasing sunsets so I know the excitement that comes along with it. Great photo!

  2. And welcome to the world of blogging! 🙂

Great pictures! I like the blog name. Notions of Nikki made me chuckle at finance” 🙂
