Within the walls of Ardlie, Jennie’s family shared their lives together, surrounded around “Bumble,” Jennie’s Grandmother. Her fondest memories from childhood included intricate searches for hidden treasures at Christmas and Thanksgiving feasts around Bumble’s dining room table. Returning to Ardlie is sacred for Jennie because it reminds her of the days when Bumble was still here. When she walked through the threshold of the front door on Saturday, it only took one waft of air through the doorway to bring a flood of memories. “It still smells like Grandma’s,” she sighed.
There was never a question in Jennie’s mind once Reagan was born that she would need to take her infant daughter to see her beloved Grandmother’s home. Like we did for her maternity portraits, Jennie sat in a light-drenched corner of Bumble’s living room in her favorite chair, only this time Reagan was here as well.
Nikki, this is the sweetest blog post ever!! Reagan is such a sweet little girl!! 🙂
