We began in Byrd Park where the tree lined sidewalks gave way to The Carillon. I could tell Colby was nervous, holding onto a secret only the two of us knew as he reached for Jessica’s outstretched hand. We laughed, not letting the steady drizzle affect our spirits, as we headed up the grand staircase. We rounded the corner, and waiting for them was a carefully planted row of candles. As they approached the scene, I stepped back to let them have their moment without my interference.

And then, Colby breathed the words that Jessica has waited years to hear. They reminisced on how far they’ve come, and promised that no matter what lies ahead, they would conquer it together. They could conquer the world if only with one another by their side.

I couldn’t be more excited for my sweet intern and her incredible new future husband!
