A good friend of mine said something so wise this weekend. “If you don’t fill yourself up with something, than you’ll have nothing to give to anyone.”

For me, there couldn’t be truer words, especially reflecting on this past weekend. I spent Friday and Saturday shooting a wedding for an amazing couple, and then took some time Sunday to enjoy my family. I think finding the balance between business and personal is something I’ve struggled with this year, but slowly I’m creating a workflow that is allowing me to make the most of my time off.

Friday and Saturday, I witnessed the marriage of Priya and Zaid. Their families come from two very different cultures, and to see them come together to celebrate the marriage of their children was really amazing. More on that on their full blog post later this week!

At church Sunday, my nephew Tyler was baptized. It was such a joyful experience to be there with him, pray with him, and capture this special moment in his life. I’m so proud of him for making the decision to accept Jesus into his heart. Worshiping with my family yesterday was one of the highlights of my year, we don’t make it to church together nearly enough. I hope you made time this weekend to do something to lift yourself up!
