Last week, my baby sister became a mother.
That’s still so weird to type! Jen was blessed with a healthy pregnancy, and it went by so fast. We have spent all year preparing for Leighton’s arrival, and I knew it would change me, but I honestly could never prepare myself for the way this little girl would steal my heart.
To be honest, last week was really hard. I felt called to attend the Pursuit 31 conference last year, but when I registered we had no idea the week of the conference would be the week Jen delivered. It was almost heartbreaking being away from her, but I felt at peace knowing I was where I was supposed to be and she was in great hands at home. And what an amazing gift to fly home to on Thursday! I swear, that plane couldn’t have moved fast enough. I was so ready to meet this babe.
I realized I hadn’t shared Jen’s maternity portraits on film, so I wanted to share those and introduce y’all to Leighton, also affectionately known as Lulu by her Aunt Kiki. 😉
“For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” -Psalm 139:13-14
