I must say, of all the cyber places you could have ended up, i’m certainly glad you chose to be here. Viewing my site is best accompanied by your choice of beverage; i recommend sweet tea, hazelnut macchiato, or prosecco. That, and 80's music, preferably from the breakfast club soundtrack.

Home is wherever I’m with you

March 28, 2012

It is a blessing in life to know and appreciate the place that you come from. To stand with your feet planted on solid ground. A steady foundation that you can confidently return to when the world around you starts to tremble and sway.

For me, this place is a house on a hill, full of memories and people who made me who I am. There has been enough love and laughter here over the years to take you to the moon and back.

Between the Christmases, family dinners, birthday parties (with cheesecake, of course) or even just the days of routine, we stand by each other.

We love each other. We are tied to each other with an inseparable bond passed down to us from generations before us.

Image

And I am so thankful for that. We may bicker, we may not always agree, but we belong to each other. And no matter what happens, we always have each other, and this place to come home to.

We’re a fun bunch of crazies, I tell ya!

A sincerely heart felt thank you to Mama and Daddy. For everything. For supporting every dream, helping me overcome every obstacle, and for giving me a childhood of love and wonder.

And for my brothers and sisters. I couldn’t imagine life without any of them.

God willed me here,

to love like crazy,

to teach those babies,

and to take your picture.

My mama taught me,

that honesty is the best policy,

and Daddy showed through true example

how to work hard for the life you love.

No one could love me deeper

than my brothers and my sisters,

except maybe for that man I’ll soon call husband.

I thank God for being the keeper of my fate.

I couldn’t have chosen it better.

Words I fancy:

“As mothers and daughters, we are connected with one another. My mother is the bones of my spine, keeping me straight and true. She is my blood, making sure it runs rich and strong. She is the beating of my heart. I cannot now imagine a life without her.”
