This past month has been nothing if not a wonderful reprieve from a season of busy. There has been so much joy, so much time with family and friends, so many reasons to celebrate life and love.

There has also been a little bit of guilt, a little bit of worry about what this year will hold, a little uneasiness regarding the future. In these times, I try to remember that He knows the plans He has for me, and that I shouldn’t worry about what is to come, but rather enjoy these fleeting moments of rest.

Christmas surrounded by kin, New Year surrounded by friends who are like family, picking up new hobbies, slowing down, relishing in the peace of the present. A trip to the mountains, some planning for fun things to come this Spring, giving time to some deserving community members who lost one of their own.

2014, I have high hopes for you, my friend!
