In the middle of a very busy season, we carved out a few days to spend on Topsail Island with Matt’s family. This wasn’t the typical family vacation because, although few people knew the intention of our trip, it’s purpose was to celebrate the 35th anniversary of my in-laws. If you’ve ever met Nina & Gary, you know that they are the kind of people who would give you the shirt off their backs. My mother in law has to be one of the most selfless people I’ve ever met, living a life of serving The Lord by serving others.
Their vow renewal ceremony, accompanied by the sound of ocean waves and acoustic guitar, was a reflection of the life they’ve lived together. Surrounded by their closest family members, they committed to continue to wake up every day and choose their marriage and choose to love one another. They have become an incredible example of Christ-like marriage to those around them, but especially to their children and grandchildren. You don’t realize how rare a thing it is these days to have parents who are still married, and Matt and I are beyond blessed to have not one set, but both sets of our parents still committed to one another.
A beautiful vow renewal. I love the light, oceany feel to these shots. I bet they love these photos!
