A few weeks back, I shared a post telling about Ashley and Charlie. They are some of our very best friends. I don’t have enough words to tell you about their selfless, loving, giving hearts. Ashley not only never forgets a friend’s birthday, she does everything in her power to make birthdays special for her friends. She loves her the students and families at Goddard, and her nurturing nature is going to make her an amazing mother one day. And Charlie would drop anything to be anywhere for a friend in need, that’s just the kind of guy he is. A Southern Gentleman to the core, proud of where he comes from, and would lay down his life for Ashley.
Ashley and Charlie’s wedding was incredible. I have been to many a wedding, but none has ever quite matched theirs. The thing about it was that everyone knew that Ashley and Charlie without a doubt belonged together. There wasn’t a dry eye when Ashley’s brother, Michael, walked her down the aisle. I think it’s because we all knew we were watching the magical start of what will be a beautiful life together.
The only thing Ashley and Charlie didn’t walk away with that day? Wedding portraits. Due to events outside of their control, Ash & Charlie didn’t get any images of just the two of them together from the day of their wedding.
As a wedding photographer, recent bride, and Ashley’s friend, I couldn’t imagine them not having these images for the rest of their lives. I knew that no matter what, we couldn’t go back and remedy the error to magically give her great portraits from the day of her wedding, however, I also knew that we could try our best to get some wonderful images of them now, present day in their wedding attire.
Ash is always saying there are things about her wedding she would do differently. She said she would have worn her hair down, changed her colors, and had a different photographer. So for their styled shoot, we changed all those things to give Ashley and Charlie some images they could treasure as they continue their life together.
Enjoy some of my favorites from Ashley & Charlie’s Preppy Picnic themed styled shoot at the beautiful Walkerton Tavern!

The broach on Ashley’s flowers was her grandmothers. Beautiful!
Love F. Scott, and Ash is an avid reader. These vintage books made an excellent addition to their picnic scene!
