After working primarily with one album company last year, I wanted to try some different companies who offer more fine art print options for my clients. I researched several companies and finally decided on Blanche Prints, a new company who is just beginning to accept print clients.
I was so excited when this book arrived! I didn’t realize until last year how important it is to have sample albums on hand for client meetings. My portfolio was primarily digital last season, but I’m thankful to finally have a tangible album to display when meeting with potential clients.
The albums are presented in beautiful linen boxes (in several color options-with additional option for gold foil stamping!). I absolutely love the texture and quality. The pages themselves can either be flush-mount or delicate paper with japanese silk vellum page interleave.
The books themselves are more slender than the albums I created last year. While I really enjoyed working with KISS last year for their customer service and the ease of the design interface was really convenient, I think my personal style leans more towards the aesthetic of the fine art album and that they are a more accurate reflection of my brand. The designers at Blanche also create the spreads for me, which takes a huge weight off my shoulders, especially during the busyness of peak wedding season (while I do enjoy album design, it is so time consuming!).
There is definitely something to be said about seeing your work in print. The art we work so hard to create as photographers is meant to be displayed and admired in tangible ways, not just on a computer screen.
Hey Nikki, I just want to thank you for reviewing the Blanche Prints album! As a fellow photographer who is rebranding, I was highly considering this company to do my albums. The idea that I don’t have to design the album is a HUGE game changer for me. I’m so glad I stumbled upon your blog. Your review really confirms this company as part of my brand.
