My Mama is my best friend.

For 23 years, she has been my ally, my confidant, my biggest fan, and my healer (so much so that today, while at the doctor, even thought my husband stood by my side, all I could think about was how much I wanted Mama to be there to hold my hand and console me).

She has been one of God’s greatest gifts to my family. She would sacrifice anything for her children. She loves the six of us, her grandbabies, and my Daddy so fiercely. She is our source for compassion, for wisdom, for peace.

Today is her birthday. Happy birthday, Mama!

Daddy calls her angel, and it couldn’t be more fitting. All I am, or could ever hope to become, I owe to my angel mother.
