There’s something about your first time in The Rockies. The grandeur of it all is enough to take your breath away (especially for an East Coast girl…the mountains of Charlottesville are much more hill-like in comparison to these massive peaks). We explored Vail, Beaver Creek (with a beautiful engagement session at Bachelor Gulch at the Beaver Creek Ritz), and Breckinridge for the week before settling in Silverthorne
Our time in Colorado will always be remembered fondly as one of our sweetest trips for a Destination Wedding. Our bride, Megan, was a dear friend from my sorority days at JMU (Alpha Phi), and to be able to reconnect with her throughout her wedding planning process was sincerely such a gift.
I was in awe when we pulled into the drive at the private home where the weekend’s festivities would take place. Nestled high on an overlook, the home would serve as lodging for the family and wedding party, meaning everyone was able to truly enjoy one another’s company over the course of the weekend. Megan and Andy created an intimate experience for their guests with the help of delicious meals provided by Denver based farm-to-table catering company, Fresh Food Further.
Their ceremony at Sapphire Point Overlook was threatened by a brief rainstorm, but the clouds gave way to sun and the resulting light was magical for their wedding day portraits on film.
