One of my favorite aspects of a wedding day is portrait time with the bride and groom. There is just something so beautiful about capturing a couple in their first few moments as husband and wife (or, if the couple chooses to do a first look, the moments right before they commit their lives to each other).
Some of my best friends, through a series of events outside of their control, were unable to do portraits on their wedding day. Their ceremony was at sunset, and their photographer just didn’t plan very well around the light. There are plenty of images of us bridesmaids getting ready with Ashley, of the ceremony itself, and of the reception. However, Ash & Charlie currently have no portraits of the two of them together from their wedding day, a day that ultimately was their day, and their love wasn’t even properly documented!
Well, I just couldn’t allow this for one of my closest friends, so I suggested to Ashley and Charlie a few months ago that we do a wedding portrait “re-do”. Ashley is always saying, as a former bride, that there are things about her day that she would change: her colors, how she wore her hair, the photographer, etc.
So, this Sunday, we’re going to do just that! Ashley and I are collaborating to style a “Preppy Picnic” themed shoot. They’re going to get all dolled up, Ash is going to wear that dress she thought she’d never have an opportunity to wear again, and I’m going to do everything within my power to capture their love in it’s truest form and provide them with images they can cherish!
Here is a peak at the inspiration for Sunday’s shoot. I can’t wait to share the finished product!
