Priya was in the bridal suite getting ready when we heard Zaid’s voice just outside the door.
“Babe, how are you doing?”
Priya replied, “I’m good, Hun. Why don’t you come in? I’m not even finished getting ready yet.”
From within the door, I could see Zaid turn his head and shield his eyes from the possibility of seeing his girl before her walk down the aisle. “No, he said. I’ll wait for you.”
Zaid’s reaction, much like their entire wedding day, was so precious. I have to admit, I was nervous before this wedding. Zaid and Priya’s families come from two very different cultures and had family flying in from all over the world for their wedding. I was placed outside of my comfort zone in the best possible way. Priya, Zaid, and they’re families were so loving and welcoming the entire weekend. The traditions they observed throughout their day from the attire to the ceremony, the food to the dancing were a true reflection of the importance of heritage and family to this beautiful couple.
Priya took everyone’s breath away on Saturday. She was radiant with bridal glow. And her spirit? If possible, she has an even more beautiful heart. Priya and Zaid chose Apple Blossom Plantation because they wanted a location where their friends and family could join together for the entire weekend. I loved these gold lanterns, especially in the evening when they were all glowing. Priya’s wedding sari was brought from India by her Mama. I love this tradition. Before Priya walked down the aisle, her uncles came to the bridal suite to place these bangles on her wrist. They signify that she is a newly married woman, and she isn’t to take them off for a week. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as her uncles told her even though she is a married woman, she is never alone in this world, because she will always have her family standing behind her waiting to catch her if she falls. The moment Zaid had been waiting for all day! Priya and Zaid did a honey tasting ceremony, a reminder to savor the sweetness of life. Flower toss during the recessional…love! Her Henna was insanely beautiful! New favorite groomsman shot. Marriage sure looks handsome on you, Zaid! Favorites. Their reception was one of the most fun I have every attended! EVERYONE was on their feet dancing, the room was joy in motion! …and then they busted out a choreographed dance! Venue: Apple Blossom Plantation
