I’ll never forget that phone call from Emily two and a half years ago.
“I just had coffee with the man I’m going to marry.”
Two months ago, that same guy she had fallen for over a cup of Starbucks called me to tell me his plan to propose to my best friend. I screamed, I danced, I was elated for them. Keith is everything I could have wished for Emily (And Keith, that’s saying a lot. I have the highest of expectations for the man marrying my “soul mate“).
Matt and I had the honor of documenting the proposal. It meant the world to me that Keith invited us to be there.
We ventured up to the Mill Mountain Star, otherwise known as the Star of Roanoke, and waited for Emily’s Mama, Gail, to bring the unsuspecting Emily. When they arrived, Mama Strickler handed her a book Keith had made for her, pages describing their journey in both pictures and words.
When Emily turned around, Keith was there, waiting for her on bended knee.
My view from the bushes where we waited.
Emily’s ring is a family heirloom, having once belonged to the Grandmother she was named after.
More to come of their story when I get to share their engagement pictures next fall (Traverse City, here we come!!!!).
Emily and Keith, we love you both and are so excited for this beautiful season in your lives!
