There’s just something about a summer wedding.
It could be the sounds of the season, a warm welcoming to the foothills of the Blue Ridge from a symphony of insects (read: not cicadas). It could be the local faire adorning the dinner tables, scenes of fresh summer squash and heirloom tomatoes, paired with a sparkling rose.
But for our bride, Virginia, her selling point was the promise of Hydrangea.
You see, hydrangeas are her favorite. They’ve always reminded her of childhood. Of the warmth of Virginia summers. Of freedom and of wonder.
Until now. Now, they remind her of Lee. Of the warm Virginia day when they committed to forever. Of joy and of promises.
So yeah, hydrangeas are her favorite.
It’s no secret that Pippin boasts an abundance of these delicate buds every year, beginning mid-summer. For an intimate wedding just outside of Charlottesville, this was the perfect scene. Their details were simple, yet delicate, and executed beautifully by Marilyn of Just A Little Ditty.
