Nearly a year ago, a dear friend and I stepped out in vulnerability and wrote this blog post. We shared about infertility in hopes that other women who are struggling would know in times of their deepest yearning for a child they weren’t alone.

The first weekend in October, I received a phone call from Ashley that literally made me hit my knees, sobbing those heavy, shoulder shaking cries as she told me that she and Charlie were expecting.

My sweet, beautiful friend has transformed, almost as if overnight, into this incredibly radiant, maternal creature. The mother she was always meant to be, even if it was on a different timeline than she original planned.

Wyatt, your sweet Mama and Daddy whispered pleas for your existence into the heavens long before you ever took your first breath. You were worth the wait, every second.
