I’ve felt some guilt over taking some time to rest this month. Every time I sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee while I practice my lettering or watch a movie with my husband, I can’t help but run through the lists of things that I could be getting done.
This weekend, I opened my daily devotional app to the perfect verse. Isaiah 40:31 says “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
I know that The Lord has great plans for my life this year, and that the tug on my heart to rest is because he is preparing me for the work he will call me to do. While I don’t always love downtime (mostly because I never have downtime and don’t really know what to do with myself) I know that it is necessary to renew my spirit.
This weekend was an incredible one. Matt and I spent some time at Wintergreen Mountain Resort with some amazing friends and family. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt, watched the sun set over the mountain peaks at the end of the day, and had some quality time with people who I love. That, my friends, was the makings of a great weekend.
Love this! You deserved this weekend, love! Wintergreen Winery is where we got engaged! 😉 I do have a special fondness for that little place.
