As I approached the front door of Katelyn’s new, beautiful home on Monday evening, I was a nervous wreck. Not only had I been invited to have dinner at Katelyn James house, but I would also be spending the evening with a myriad of other photographers who I look up to in the industry.
Monday night was incredible, I had nothing to worry about. Katelyn invited all the girls she had done coaching with for the past year to have dinner as a Coaching Reunion. It was a safe place, a time to gather, network, discuss our progress, our dreams, our fears, our challenges we’re facing in the industry.
Something was shared on Monday night that I’ve been contemplating again and again this week. The industry is evolving. Ten, even five years ago, you’d never find a group of photographers sitting around talking, laughing, sharing their hearts and their secrets to their success. It was just unheard of. Now, there are people like Katelyn and Amanda Hedgepeth and Justin and Mary who want to help other photographers as they grow, not only in their techniques, but in their ability to dream bigger dreams. This is how it should be! The whole industry, ourselves, our clients benefit from lifting each other up and encouraging one another. This premise is the idea upon which Shoot Share was born.
Here are some of my favorites from my time with this amazing group of women Monday night. I’m so excited to have left with so many new friends, new inspiration, and more appreciation for those photographers who have helped me along the way. Jeremy Mitchell was also there with his beautiful wife Ashley filming, I’ll be sure to share that video once Katelyn releases it!
Check out this stunner of a bouquet by Anthomanic! The always stunning Lauryn Galloway was our model for Monday. The lovely Annamarie Akins, getting her shoot on.
