During the past month, I have been so knee deep in wedding season I could hardly see straight. My to-do list has been at a constant all time hight, yet my heart is so full. There has been a moment at each wedding this season, usually during the ceremony, that I say a quiet prayer to thank God for my couples and for the opportunity to do what I love. I’m so thankful for October because although it has been the busiest month of the year, I have shown myself that with the Lord, I can do this. All the months I had doubt in my ability to shoot a full wedding season and work full time have been put to rest because although I am exhausted, I am making things happen.
Part of what has gotten me through is making time for things that are important to me, like my Husband, my family, and my friends. I think it’s really necessary to schedule time to do things you love (and also to schedule rest) so you can be sure you are filling yourself up so you have the strength to give more to others.
The months are flying this year! Here are my favorite Instagrams from October. 🙂 Top left to right: 1) Matt and I in Urbana, where he was the best assistant ever at a bridal portrait session. 2) Puppy kisses. 3) Tayler & Dylan on their wedding day. 4) Rigby snuggles while editing.
Second row, left to right: 1) Owls created by the hands of some sweet three year olds. 2 & 3) State Fair antics (you really can’t take me family anywhere). 4) Tree line heading to Berkeley Plantation.
Third row, left to right: 1) A sneak at print inspiration for a coming shoot. 2) Mariah and I on her wedding day. 3) Trying on a Christmas present from Anthropologie a little early. 4) Meeting our niece, Charlotte, for the first time.
Last row, left to right: 1) A cup of coffee and Christmas Vacation the morning after last Saturday’s wedding, 2) Dinner at Saturday’s wedding, where we even had our own table like real guests! 3) My super long hair before I cut it all off last month. 4) Jennie assisting me at Tayler & Dylan’s wedding.
