To be a part of Mariah and Forrest’s wedding was one of the biggest honors I have had in my career thus far, and to say I was excited when she asked me to be her photographer would be a huge understatement. Mariah is such a beautiful person, inside and out. Her number one priority throughout her wedding day was making sure that her friends and her family were taking care of (that, and saying “I do” to the man she’s been waiting to marry for the last eight years!).
Their gorgeous wedding was perfect for them, set at the incredible Berkeley Plantation where Forrest is also employed. Mariah has an eye for detail, a love for design, and she implemented these things exquisitely throughout the day. One of my favorite moments was seeing her make her entrance at the ceremony and walk down the aisle with her daddy. Having known Mariah since I was in the first grade, it was an incredible thing to see how she’s grown over the years and watch her as she prepared to become “Mrs. Mays.”
Enjoy my favorites from Mariah & Forrest’s wedding day! If there’s one thing about Mariah, it’s her style and love of shoes. I adored these! Mariah’s sweet Mama, Lisa, getting ready. These robes were gorgeous (so were the bridesmaids!). This is a favorite. She was just so excited! Handsome, Forrest! The light, and this moment. The Lord is SO incredibly good! Married! Such a great looking bridal party! They love their Toby, he’s their baby! Sunset on a beach, what more could you want during bride and groom portraits! Oh, the way he looks at her. He was beaming all night, so proud to finally all her his wife! Favorite black and white. Ever. You are stunning, Mariah! The table settings were gorgeous, simple, and elegant. I always cry during the father/daughter dance, but this one got me especially because I’ve known Mariah for so long, and know how much her daddy, Robert, means to her. They also danced to “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw, the same song my Daddy and I danced to. These guys were so much fun during the reception!
Congratulations, Mariah & Forrest! I hope you guys are enjoying your honeymoon in Punta Cana!
