There are times when owning your own business can be lonely. You work for yourself, there isn’t an office you have to go to each day, you don’t have co-workers to converse with. Luckily in the photography industry there are so many online forums and groups where you can meet people, network, and find support. It was in one of these groups that I stumbled upon Michael and Carina. If you haven’t checked them out, please do so! Their work is incredible, they are such awesome people with an amazing love story, and they have an incredible passion for what they do.
After I referred my best friend, Emily (who is getting married in october..YAY!) to Michael & Carina, we decided that we needed to be friends in real life. Social media has this way of making you feel like you know people, and while it is amazing that it has the power to connect so many people who wouldn’t have met otherwise, it’s nice to have real, meaningful, face-to-face relationships in the industry as well! We decided to meet up at New Kent Winery a few weekends ago and have an indoor picnic. We had so much fun, and in true photographer nature we even braved the cold to play in the snow and shoot some photos!
Matt held the camera, he was a little too intimidated to shoot it. It’s a goal of mine to try to break him of this in 2014. 😉
You can tell just in the way Michael gently reaches for Carina and nuzzles her hair that he adores her. Their love story is an amazing one of overcoming the odds and distance…proof that true love is always worth fighting for. They also brought August, who is the cutest little man-pup! Isn’t Carina gorgeous? I mean seriously girl…I’d love to do an entire session with you. Radiantly beautiful.
