The daunting task of categorizing 1500+ emails awaits me, yet all I can do is stare at these vacation pictures.
I’ve been not so much avoiding responsibilities this week as I’ve been slow to accept them. My to-do list is a mile long, but mentally I’m very much still on holiday (hence why I’ve only blogged once this week-for shame).
I think it’s because part of me knows life as a photographer is getting ready to get more real than I’ve ever known as my first full season commences this Sunday. I’m soaking up every last ounce of calm. My family joined me tonight for a very random mid-week family dinner, and there was so much peace amidst the chaos of clanking dishes. Comfort in their presence.
I’m so excited for Sunday, for Monica and Cedric, for Priya and Zaid the following weekend. For the six couples who will come in the subsequent weeks. I’m so excited to witness the starts of their marriages, and am blessed that of all people, they are trusting me with their memories.
Vacation couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I was able to put down my camera (professionally speaking), be present in my own life, and remember why I fell in love with my craft in the first place.
